    Hello,

I have recently purchased a HP Envy 17.3" Leap Touchsmart - J110ea it has 8GB memory installed. I am looking to upgrade the hard drive which I have to a SSD 512GB

I am looking to upgrade the ram but I am not sure what the maximum supported memory is. It seems there are a number of variations of this laptop sold with 8,12,16gb memory installed

Does anyone know how much maximum memory supported for the HP Envy 17.3" Leap Touchsmart - J110ea and what exact memory modules I need i was looking at upgrading to 16GB DDR3L 1600mhz

    Thanks

Using CPU-Z, you can see your ram speed, timing, manufacturer, etc. and then search newegg/amazon for the same spec.

Note that 1600MHz RAM can show up as 800 (I believe because it's dual channel, both at 800).

Look up the manual - as long as it has two DIMM slots, I would be surprised if it wasn't supported.

CPU-Z should also tell you if you currently have one 8GB stick installed or two 4GB sticks, which will decide whether you should order one 8GB stick or two.
