So im running 8 gigs of DDR3 1600 cl 11

tweeked the timings a little got a little more out of the HD7660g and im really happy with the A10 4600m

So i cant changed my CL in amd overdrive its grayed so i was woundering if anyone tested out some DDR3 1866 ram in this system? Could you get it to run at the rated speed or just DDR3 1600 with tighter timings? If so.

Not looking for a huge gain in performance but if i get a extra 5fps in wow for the $50 or just smooth out the hit that 25m's do to the system i'll happy spend that money on it.

Again very happy with the system just looking to get the most bang out of it as i can.

So far in wow after doing a ton of test over the past few days with my current set of timings i gained about 3-5 fps what is not bad using stock crappy cl11 ram. Might order some dom tomorrow or just wait till next week because if it runs at full speed 1866mhz im expecting a sold 5-10fps gain at stock clocks and timings but im more interested to see how it helps smooth out 25 and 40man raids in wow. Now if it only runs at 1600mhz like im running now i expect a gain since i'll be able to tighten up those timings pretty nice

I'm pretty sure that multi-player mode requires more CPU grunt too and the AMD A10 is not up to that task no matter how good the graphics side is.

You may want to also try 16GB RAM if your system supports it - who knows? - it might just be enough to give you the push you need in your 25-40 man WOW raids.

Keep us posted - I'm interested in how this plays out (sorry for the pun). :)

You can go ahead with 1866MHz CL10 RAM, it might will run 1600MHz CL8 or if you are lucky 1866MHz. I have seen someone utilize 1866MHz DDR3 speed with A10-4600M:

Officially 1866MHz not supported, but in the real might working...
