    Hello,

    I have an HP G60-125NR.

    AMD Turion X2 RM-70 2.0ghz
    3gb DDR2 RAM
    250gb HDD
    Nvidia Geforce 8200m

This laptop overheats like crazy. Watching a single flash video with nothing else on can take the temperature up to 100c, or even over. Idling is around 60-70c even. Browsing the web is 70-90c. (*note: these are temps when single tasking)

The temperature was always like this when I bought the laptop. Fan is always on high speed and very loud. HP tech support tells me to always do a system wipe, I have done that, problem still persists.

All drivers are up to date.

I know there is an option to undervolt this laptop:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...arket-upgrades/235824-undervolting-guide.html

However RMClock does not work. Does anyone know of any programs that work with the AMD RM-70? Or has anyone tried undervolting this specific cpu? I would like to know how much I can undervolt it to, so I don't have to repeatedly keep testing after each undervolting interval.

Is there anything else I can do to cool my laptop down? I already have dusted this laptop with a can of air, and use a cooling pad. Nothing seems to work.

    Thanks.

*Also note: this laptop BSODs. My friend has a same laptop model with an Intel Pentium Dual-Core cpu, and it is silent and cool. I figure that this is a problem with AMD not knowing how to make chips for laptops and Nvidia Geforce.

RMClock is only for Intel Merom and Penryn Core 2 processors. Have you considered repasting your laptop? You'll likely have to flip over the motherboard and repaste it (common in HP's).

Re-pasting the processor and cleaning the dust out of the fan/heatsink are your best options.

    I'll try repasting it. Thanks.

I used to have an old Compaq Presario, opened it up, and found out that the poor soldering job had undone itself.
