I just purchased the HP mini 210-1010NR and I'm disappointed because the touchpad does not scroll. I assumed that it would and am frustrated using the arrows. Is there any way I can add this to the notepad (regardless of cost). I would not have bought this if I had known.

Try installing the Synaptics driver software, and if you already have it installed, try a different version. Just about any touchpad these days will support scrolling.

Or, just try going into the options and verifying that the scrolling is enabled in the driver you have now.

Thanks, I do have synaptics but I verified that this version DID NOT come with the scroll option (after being on the phone for 45 minuted with tech support). is there a way I can upgrade the system so I can scroll. Warning-I am not the smartest when it comes to computers! Thanks in advance for any help that I get!!

If it is simply a matter of installing drivers that support scrolling, then that is easy to try: simply go to your manufacturer and download a synaptics driver that is newer than what you have. If it doesn't work, simply 'roll back' the driver to get to the original driver or uninstall via control panel.

If however, it is a hardware limitation (and it might be if they were really trying to cut the cost of this computer as much as possible - how much was this notebook?), then your only sensible option is to return/sell it and be more discerning on your next purchase.

Hope it is simply driver related; good luck.

Mine has a synaptics driver loaded. Go to the control panel, "hardware and sound", Mouse under devices and printers. Click on the right most tab (has a funny red symbol on it and says "Device Settigns"). Then click on the "Settings" button. You finally get into the synaptics control panel and can set scroll zones or two finger scroll gestures. It's all there - just a few layers down in the settings.
