Hey, I have a HP Pavilion DV9000t and Im wondering if its possible to upgrade to the motherboard present in the DV9500t, which supports a better graphics card, more ram etc. Id be thankful for any thoughts on whether this is possible (cost is not a factor).

The only difference between a dv9000t ad a dv9500t is the internals. HP stuck with the exact same case design. However, you're better off buying a new computer rather than hunting down a mobo and installing it.

If so much as a single electrical component between the motherboards is different (obviously there is) it is virtually guaranteed it would not work at all. It isn't worth it at all to try.

If you really want to try, disassemble your DV9000t and get the part numbers for the case (palmrest and base), and get the part number of the motherboard you want to try. Go to partsurfer.hp.com and look up the models that use each part number (search by part number). If you find models that use all 3 parts, you should be able to use that motherboard in your existing case.

Disregard this thread, I talked to HP and they said it isn’t possible. What I really wanted to do was get a better graphics card then my current 512 MB Geforce 7600. Oh well…
