    Hi guys,

My new HP notebook has got a Mobile Sempron 3400+ for Socket S1.
According to HP site, there are models from G6000 series, which are based on AMD Athlon 64 X2 (not Turion 64 X2). Where can I get such processor and how to change it manually?

Can I use single-core Turion 64 instead of Sempron?

Also, is Sempron a 64-bit processor? CPU-Z says it supports X86-64 instructions.

You can put in a Turion X2 or Mobile Athlon X2 in there, those are socket S1 processors. There are no single core cpus for S1.

Try ebay, or if you can use froogle and you will get many hits on buying the TX2.
