Hi,
my collegues laptop, HP Pavilion Zd8180EA, won't start.
The power unit seems ok 19V on one pin but the only thing wich happens when pushing the power button is that a blue led gives a short blink in front and then it is still dead.
Without battery nothing happens when pushing the power button.
Do anyone have experience of this?

welcome to nbr,
it could be a memory problem, video card problem, or motherboard problem. It really could be anything.
Does the system make any beeps at all when you try and power it up?
If the problem just started appearing clear out of the blue, than it is either realted to a corrupt memory cell of overheating.
Remove the memory from the system and try powering the system up with one memory card installed at a time. If one of the memory cards is defective, the system will not turn on.
If the system turns on with one of the memory cards than you will be able to figure out which memory card is defective through the process of elimination.
If the problem occurs with each memory card individually, than the next step is to check to see that everything is connected properly. (You have to take the system apart to see that everything is still connected properly)
If the system has warranty, send it in for repair, but if it does not, than you jsut need to check every part and make sure everything works in other machines, to find which part is not working in your system.
