    HP Pavillion 9700 series / bay 1 does not recognized disc drive

    I have 2 drives on my computer, thought the 1st disc was bad, switched the other disc drive into bay 1, still didn't work, boot to bay 2, it works. What part might be the cause of this problem for bay 1 not recognizing the disc drive?
