    Hey Guys,

I have a Hp Presario C500 that I bought with 512mb Ram which also came with Vista :s

Anyway I went out and bought another 1gb stick of ram thus bumping it up to 1526mb Ram in the Notebook about a year ago.

I am just wondering if it's possible to purchase a 2gb stick of Ram to replace the 1gb stick and will it increase performance

I played WoW:BC decently enough, but am thinking of buying the new expansion which i heard is requires higher performance.

Any help is much appreciated, Thanks!

Integrated graphics adapter is the main gaming bottleneck of your computer, Celeron processor is not helping things either. Nevertheless, upgrading the RAM may give you some improvement, but don’t expect too much out of it especially for games.

Most notebooks have two user upgradable memory slots. I did a quick check and found out that instructions are given only on how to upgrade one slot. This could either two things : 1. the other memory module is permanently fixed to the motherboard or 2. it is removable but located somewhere HP doesn’t want you to meddle with (i.e : underneath the keyboard).

I couldn’t find specifics about the maximum allowed memory capacity or the size of the maximum supported single module. Go to crucial.com and run the System Scanner tool, that should give you an idea about your upgrade options.

Yes my brother has a dv8000 built on the same motherboard as that c500 and i have ran 3gb in his system. I would reccomend a CPU upgrade to a core 2 duo for the best preformance increase. From what i have read upgrading the cpu helps intergrate dintel graphics cards.
