The front glass of my TX1000 is broken. Everything is functional, the LCD the pen, clicking with the pen, etc. The only thing is that the front display has a crack in the front display.

I’ve being trying to buy the part and I bought a front LCD cover bezel….  Big mistake. :( It does not come with the glass, just the frame.

Does anyone know what the name of the front glass? . The one that goes on top of the LCD?

    Thanks

I think the glass you are reffering to, is a pressure sensitive screen.

I could be wrong, but I am trying to look at a picture and understand what you are talking about.

If you could take a picture of the broken "glass" and upload it to photobucket, and then give us a link to it, we could further assist you.

The name of the front glass is called the digitizer and soft touch layer.
I have the tx1000 as well and my glass cracked. The down side is that the glass itself has some serious 3m type adhesive tape all the way around the LCD screen so its not the easiest thing to remove.. esp when the glass is broken and still avoid leaving marks on the screen from the shattered glass.

I ended up having to buy the entire top half of the computer that holds the LCD screen. Direct from HP they wanted $706.64!!! Talk about highway robbery.

They only sell it as one unit, which is lame you cant buy the LCD screen or touch layer by itself from them. (tho you can on ebay)

    I got mine on ebay for $350 + $16 s&h. It was HP part# 441106-01
That includes the webcam, fingerprint reader touch screen and LCD, all in the hp housing. (I bought mine from a guy that buys direct from hp, it was about $369 out the door http://cm.ebay.com/cm/ck/1065-29392-2357-0?uid=14532127&site=0&ver=EOIBSA080805&lk=ItemDescriptionANDimage&Item=190216818250)

HP Part#441105-001 is the same thing minus the webcam, its $686.44 direct from hp.

I was unable to find simply the touch screen portion, however my lcd was already trashed anyway.

Your best bet is selling your screen on ebay, after removing the touch layer, just list the part number of the screen LTN121W1-L03 Samsung instead of the hp part number i gave you, people will be interested as long as its not damaged or as long as the backlight is still good they could reuse that part as well.

    Hope this helps!
