Good morning all,
I went through the forum before writing this missive![]()
I own an HP ZBOOK 15 G3 with a Quadro M2000 MXM 3.0A.
I make many films in 4k and it lags...
Is it possible to upgrade to Quadro T1000 or T2000 MXM 3.1A?
Thanks to everyone who can help me

It's not possible, the CPU and GPU are solderel to the board. Sorry!

The CPU is soldered but the GPU is actually still a standard MXM card. It's rather surprising.
Sadly, I can't comment on the upgradeability of it... HP laptops often have problems with newer cards, but the G1/G2 ZBooks can be upgraded from Kepler to Maxwell without problems, and even Pascal cards will work, but the fan will run at maximum all the time (different temperature sensor iirc).
Afaik only the Quadro T1000 comes in MXM-A format (and also in MXM-B for the 17 inch ZBooks, so beware), so that's the only one you could try unless maybe you're willing to mod the laptop. They're still pretty new and since very few people buy these kinds of laptops, it would be pretty hard to find one, especially at a decent price.
