I have a HP dv2000 laptop computer. I am having trouble with the monitor. The screen is dim. Everything is working except for the fact that the screen is always dim. I have tried to adjust the brightness on the labtop. Nothing happened. I even went as far as replacing the inverter and it is still dim. I do not know what to do next. Do anyone have an idea of what the problem may be?

I would take the notebook lid apart, and insure that all of the cables are properly seated. If you still have any problems, than it looks like the backlight in your laptop may have died. I do not know if you can just replace the backlight, but you may have to replace the entire screen.
