Hi everyone I'm having problems with my dv6000 laptop. It keeps coming up with hard drive faults and fatal errors. So I'm after a new hard drive and want to upgrade the ram as it is running vista at the moment on 1gb, I've been told it will run a lot better with 2gb. The hard drive inside at the moment is a seagate st9160821AS. The ram is 2x512 cards,
Sorry if I have'nt made alot of sense not very computer literate.
    Thanks.

    Mike.

OK Mate, so as long as it says ddr2 sodium ram on it, it will fit ok ?, and any 2.5 hdd will fit ok will it ?. Sorry to sound so stupid, first time I've done an upgrade.

    Many thanks.

    Mike.

No. The DV6000 uses a SATA drive. You do not want to buy a PATA or EIDE drive for that laptop (they are getting harder to find, but you want to pay attention).
