*EDIT I posted the wrong laptop type in title correct one reflects below*

My friend was foolish enough to get Vista but not with 2 gigs of RAM.

His laptop is a dv6000z I believe (15.4" and has a 6150 nvidia graphics card with an AMD processor)

But I have not upgraded Ram outside of a Desktop computer (which is a little bit more straitforward)

Does anybody recomend any RAM? I don't know if it came with 1 1GB stick of ram or two 512Mb sticks so what would people recomend for each way to upgrade to 2 Gbs?

No overclocking nessasary. I just want good solid memory that is dirt cheap.

    Thanks in advance

Dirt Cheap: RAM Deals thread...I think anything from there would be okay for the laptop.

I have the same laptop and can confirm that Corsair DDR2-667 ram will run in it, both 1GB & 2GB sticks.

Btw, if the notebook has 1GB preinstalled, it will be 2x512.

Thanks for the replys. It looks a bit out of birthday gift price range but I might end up splitting the cost with him and another friend.
