I was thinking about buying a dv9700t and later on upgrading to 4gb on a 64-bit Vista OS. I would be getting 3gb on the laptop now, and I wanted to know:
1.) if the internal ram is 2gb and the external expandable slot is 1gb

If you purchase a notebook with 3gb it will come with a 2gb stick and a 1gb stick. Modern notebooks only has 2 slots
-
-So, is it 2gb internal and 1 gb external slot, or is it just one external bay with 2 slots for the 2gb and 1 gb?
In my previous dell notebook, it specifically said 1 gb shared ddr2, and the 1 gb was split between an internal and external bay, but the hp does not say shared.
-Also, does anyone have the manual for the dv 9700t?

There are 2 external slots under a cover on the bottom of the computer. One slot will have a 2GB stick, the other will have a 1GB stick. Both are removable.

2 slots, whatever you wanna call them, external, internal, doesn't matter. You have 2 slots for RAM. You will have a 2 GB stick and a 1 GB stick totalling up to 3 GB RAM.
