Hey everyone, i've bought an HP 8510W some a few months ago with 2GB ram (1 DIMM) and now that RAM prices have plummeted, I'm thinking of upgrading to 4GB. Does anyone know which brand would be best to buy?
Crucial.com has 2GB going for about 100US$ but i don't know about compatability (number of pins etc... im clueless)
I'm looking at spending between 100-140 US dollars on it...
Can someone please help me?
Thanks in advance

Any 200pin DDR2 667(PC 5300/5400) SODIMM should work fine with your notebook. Check the RAM Deals thread for best prices on RAM. Crucial, Kingston or Corsair re pretty good choices when it comes to quality but most of the RAM available today from other manufacturers are pretty good as well.

As miner said 200pin SO-DIMM PC5300/5400 DDR2. All RAM of that type should play nice with the other stick. Crucial does make their own RAM from the bottom up (Micron) unlike most others, not that it really matters. Make sure to get a lifetime warranty. A side note if you are running 32 bit OS only about 3GB will be seen by OS. It will work fine just will not see all 4GB.
