    HP nc8430 processor upgradeable?

    I was wondering if the Core Duo for the NC8430 is upgradable core 2 duo?

    it should be, but remember that your warranty will be voided by doing so. also, you might need a bios update for it to work properly.

    In my research I have found that there is a slight CORE Volatage difference between core 2 & core...also that core 2 there are 478 pin versions and 479 pin versions....

    Core 2 Voltage 1.0375 - 1.30V
    Core DUO Voltage 1.25V-1.4V

    If anyone finds out please let me know..

    I also found a new version of the HP NC8430 being sold that does have a core 2 processor?

    So I am still in question? it is only a voltage issue at this point
