I've got nx6110 with 910GML chipset and Celeron M CPU. I tried to replace Celeron with Pentium M 730 but laptop hasn't turned on after that. Technically speaking, it turned on for like 1 second (fan was forking, LEDs were on, but screen was black) and then it just shut down so I'm now back to Celeron. What could be the cause? CPU is used and bought online so it could simply be damaged but it looks more like some incompability to me.
Thanks in advance.

well, according to that link, m 730 is compatible, so it might be damaged.

Celeron runs at 400 FSB and Pentium at 533, could it be the cause?

I think the processor you got was a dud.
i tried upgrading from a T5670 to a T8300 on my old vostro 1510 and the first processor i tried was a dud. The LED lights would blink a few times and nothing would happen.
Ordered another T8300 and all was well.
