Hello All, I'm just about to purchase the above tablet but I'm finding it really difficult to find out the upgrade path from DVD to Blu-ray.
I know that the DVD writer that comes with the laptop is removable but when I ask the question above to HP pre-sales they just tell me that it might be possible in the future!

HP currently sell some multimedia laptops with their Blu-ray/DVD writer drive but I'm unable to find the maintenance PDF file for such models that ship with a Blu-ray/DVD writer to confirm compatability.

I do have the maintenance guide for my eventual purchase model (TX2520ea) and I have the spare part number for the optical drive (480864-001 = DVD±RW and CD-RW SuperMulti Double-Layer Combo Drive with LightScribe).
So all I need to do is see if the laptops from HP that ship with a Blu-ray/DVD writer also take this particular optical drive to confirm compatibility. Does anybody know whether the HP Pavilion TX2520ea, which is capable of Blu-ray playback due to the ATI 3200 HD direct X 10 compatible graphics card, would be able to upgrade to the Blu-ray/DVD writer drives currently shipping in the HP Pavilion multimedia laptops?

By the way here's the excellent review website which scrutinises graphics cards in laptops with all the 3-D Mark scores and comparisons. Here is a direct quote for the 3200 HD ATI graphics card that ships with three HP Pavilion TX 2520ea tablet PC
"The UVD video engine is able to decode HD videos (MPEG-2, H.264, and VC-1) in all stages and allows the fluent playback of HD videos (e.g. Blu-ray) with a relative low CPU utilization (called Avivo HD). The HD 3200 is the first onboard graphics card that allows the fluent playback of Blu-ray videos."

    Sorry no URL's until 15 post's.

    Any Help Appreciated :)
