Got a Pavilion ze5500 that started having problems with Windows. I narrowed it down to the graphics (at least that's what it seems to be--not sure Linux runs fine but not Windows). Is there anyway to put a different video card into the laptop (i.e. PCMCIA). I don't know much about laptops. Thanks.

You wouldn't be able to do that via PCMCIA...if the graphics card is toast then you'll need to replace the motherboard as (unfortunately) more laptop GPUs are soldered onto the motherboard.

If Linux isn't a problem but Windows is...then you clearly have a driver issue and you do not have defective hardware then. You might want to update your drivers and/or reinstall Windows.

If both Linux and Windows have issues, then it is time to replace the laptop.
