Is there a good place to find lists of devices like this, or something? Searching the internet has been mostly unhelpful.

I was trying to find a half height wwan module that had wlan in it that also worked on verizon (3g, so I didn't have to deal with usim, etc)... the only single device I was able to find is like 3 years old, and not sold ANYWHERE. It's the Option GTM679W listed here: GTM671W/GTM679W | Option (

I was trying to find a way to add mobile broadband to an ultrabook (if you ask me, its insane that theres barely any mobile broadband in ultrabooks, you'd think that ultra portable would include mobile broadband just to be ultra portable!).

I eventually actually bought a Samsung Slate 7, ripped out the Option GTM671W (GSM only, also not available anywhere basically) in it and got a usim adapter. I'm not even sure if it will work (although it should) because I haven't gotten around to testing it yet.

While going through trying to find a wwan/wlan half height card, I scoured the internet and ebay, and found basically nothing... is there a website with good information on these cards? Does anyone here know any card like these? Etc...

    Thanks

Apart from Wimax, there's not a whole lot of WWAN cards available. Believe me, I've checked.

What mobile network are you going to be connecting to? 3G, 4G, EV-DO, GSM 3G, HSPA, LTE?

I can tell you right now there are not half mini cards which support LTE right now...or at least none that I've found.

As for the 3G and HSPA, it's slim pickings. Most carriers will require a SIM card for connectivity. Not sure how to get around that. Here is an Ericsson card that may serve your purpose: https://techship.se/products/ericsson-h5321gw-101/

But there will be even fewer that offer WWAN and 3G on the same card.
