I am preparing to install a Hitach 7K60 hard drive into my Fujitsu S6231-
I removed the hard drive, and when I removed the drive from the aluminum sleeve, a small, rectangular rubber "bumper" fell out.
I didn't notice where it came from and was hoping someone here might know what it is for.
At first I thought it was a jumper, but it is just a piece of foam rubber.
I have attached a photo so you can see it's size- click the photo for normal size-

Maybe it's for sound or heat dampening - was it just on the bottom of the hard drive?
I'd stick it back in there...

I found where it goes- inside the hard drive bay-

It is a shock absorber, so when moving the notebook, it has a better chance of "surviving". I would try to put it back on.
