    Hard Drive Cage: Annoying

    Okay so my harddrive failed in my compal fl-30 and I am trying to replace it. I've bought a new drive and everything. Only problem is the harddrive cage(cradle/rail) WONT come off! Can i pick up a new one? The screws are beginning to become worn from me trying to unscrew them! Help! Argghh :mad:

    You can get a new one, just contact your dealer where you bought it from, they should carry it.

    Consider getting a different screwdriver. There are both Phillips and Pozidriv screwdrivers, and they can go to different depths of a point, as well as having straighter or more vertical edges. It can cause the camming out that you're seeing. Check with www.powernotebooks.com (call them, good people) and see if they carry replacements for that if you absolutely can't disassemble it.
