I recently bought a Toshiba p100-ma5 notebook and decided to switch the hard drives for a faster one.

I knew that the hard drive was a 2.5" 200 gig 4200RPM SATA drive but little did I know it was 12.5mm thick!!

So when I took it out to put in a new external case I bought, it didn't fit!

I'm not going to use the new hard drive I put into the laptop because that'd be a waste. (It's a 100gig 7200RPM SATA)

So with those things being said, does anyone know of a brand that makes cases for 2.5" SATA hard drives which are 12.5mm thick?

    Please let me know!

All 2.5" hard drives are the exact same in dimension. When you purchased an external case, did you buy a 3.5" one?

no, there some larger and allow for 12.5mm thick hard drives to fit in. I did purchase a 2.5" hard drive case and my hard drive didn't fit.

Typically, most hard drive cases now-adays only accomodate 9.5mm thick hard drives.

I cannot find any 2.5" SATA enclosures that accomodate 12.5mm hard drives
