What he said. I bought one a year ago to replace a crappy 250GB Toshiba drive. Probably one of the best investments I've made in my notebook. Well, besides my 4GB kit of kick-azz OCZ memory that is! :D

In terms of performance the Western Digital WD3200BEKT and the Hitachi 7K320 are great. I do not know prices in London, but the Hitachi is cheaper and performs nearly the same in IOPS as the Western digital.

Other good drives to look into are the WD5000BEVT, and the Hitachi 5K500.B
DO not buy the 5K500, it is 12.5mm thick, the version B is 9.5mm thick.

I only mention this because your laptop uses 9.5mm thick 2.5" harddrives. A 12.5mm thick drive simply will not fit.

I don't think any other HDD could compete with those Hitachi and WD models for a quality 7200 rpm.
