    Hello,

I just purchased a new notebook, an Elitebook 8460p (specs in sig). I replaced the optical drive with a hard drive caddy, which I used in my previous notebook (Asus G73jh) without any issue.

However, with the HP notebook, the caddy prevents the computer from powering off. Whenever I try to turn off the notebook, Windows initiates its shutdown sequence and ends it by turning off the screen.

The problem is that the notebook stays powered on (lights stay on, fan spinning) even if Windows is properly shut down. Turning off the notebook by holding the power button, or removing the battery, is then the only way to completely shut it down.

The caddy is a generic one, 12.7mm, purchased on ebay.
The HDD is a 1TB, 12.5mm, pulled from an external usb hard drive (Toshiba MK1059GSM)

Has any of you ever experienced something similar?
