    :D Hi , i need to buy a new hard drive for my lap "HP Notebook zv5247la", so can you help me?, what is the maximum capacity for my laptop?, what kind? and a few recomendations :p

    Hi, and welcome to the forums!

    It really depends on what type of work you'll be doing with your laptop, and what you're willing to spend. What is the capacity of your current laptop?

    The two most widespread, popular "performance" style hard drives right now are the 100 GB 7200 RPM drive, and the 160 GB 5400 RPM drive. Both are comparable in speed, although the 100 GB 7200 RPM drive is slightly faster. The 160 GB hard drive will set you back about $80, whereas the 7200 RPM drive will set you back about $110.

    You can also invest in lower capacity drives. Again, it depends on what you're going to do with the hard drive and how much you're willing to spend.

    I would also add that your laptop uses pata/ide (ata-6) hard drives, not the sata drives that are used in current laptops. They are the same physical size, but use a different interface.
