.....wups, just realized i posted this in the wrong thread...should i repost in the right one

My 80GB Fujitsu HD has started making death noises recently. However if occurs intermittently and I've already backup the drive. I haven't had any experience with 2.5" HD failures just 3.5". The sound I’m hearing is different. I can say it’s probably not a head crash. When the HD does initialize it works fine in fact I’ve done a full test of the surface and no bad sectors were reported. The sound it makes is not the click of death you usually hear in 3.5" drives it's more of a sudden partial spin down->heads parking->reinitialize. Like the drive suddenly lost power for a split second. The drive can do this at anytime about 2-10 times then recover normally. Now like I said I’m not use to 2.5" HD failures but I’m assuming this could be a failing motor or a damaged controller board. AND the HD is external USB so what are the chances it's the enclosure failing? Any body had experience with 2.5" failures that want to offer some insight. I would like to recover this HD if it's possible.
