I've seen several threads mentioning the clicking noises of some Samsung, Seagate and WD drives. (I believe this is the head parking sound)

I've also seen some solutions proposed (like settings in NHC and HDTune.)

What I'd like to know is are these problems always effectively solved?
Or are there certain hard drives that people should definitely avoid if they don't want the noise?

    Thanks.

I don't have a clicking hard drive myself, but I was wondering if I should still recommend the WD3200BEVT to people, as some have claimed that it clicks more.

Also I read some reports of MSI Wind with the WD 80GB HDD having clicking noises and was wondering if that can be fixed.
