so long story short me and a few other members are disagreeing with marshman about the existence of a 1920x1280 screen. (read the Envy 17 thread in the HP section).
I'm certain it doesn't exist. He/she is certain it does.
so lets see what all of NBR thinks.
Edit: I'm going to post the math behind what I believe
1920x1080 = 16:9
1920x1200 = 16:10
1920x1280 = 3:2????
to get 1280 vertical lines in any standard...
16:9 -> 2275.5x1280
16:10 -> 2048x1280
4:3 -> 1706.7x1280
none of the above exists. it COULD exist in 16:10 but It doesn't make sense as there already is 1920x1200.
so I argue that 1920x1280 doesn't exist (or any XXXXby1280).

Never heard of it.

I was going to say it did but then I remembered I got it confused with 1900x1200
-
basically I think 1920x1280 is a typo, but marshman not so much... -
It's definitely not a standard resolution and I can't see a laptop having a custom one like that.
Strikes me as a typo between 1920x1080 and 1920x1200.
edit: too slow... -
I've never heard of that, only 1920x1200 and 1920x1080.

wow 68views but only 6 votes...

That's not 4:3, 16:9 or 16:10. There is not use for such a ratio.
-
my acer 8930G 18.4" screen native resolution is 1920x1080.

The guy is an obvious troll who just joined nbr this week to tick people off. Ignore him.
-
not sure why you voted that there is such a screen. -

Could you send me a link to this debate? I'll clean it up if someone is just trolling.

he posted a listing from a small online retailer from the UK which had a LG with '1920x1280 screen (searched it on LG's site and it was 1920x1200)
he posted a link to an ebay listing... lol
so he has/is trying to prove it. but he just won't hear anyone else. if you have a few minutes it's a pretty funny read...
Has/Does a 1920x1280 screen exist?
