The last time we saw an Intel wireless card that was 3x3 was the Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300.
So far:
There was rumored an Intel 9260, but it never came out and I have not heard anything about an Intel 9265.
- There has been no 3x3 version of the Intel 7260
- No wireless version of the 8260
- No wireless version of the 8265
Does Intel have any plans for future 3x3 cards?

I too would like to see an 3x3:3 WiFi card from Intel. I think the two main reasons we don't have it is because AC class 2x2:2 is already close (enough) to the limit of GB Ethernet connections (link rates; not data throughput) when the router and client are physically close together and second reason is that lower power consumption trumps having 1% of the users have a little more throughput.
I'd be in that 1% though - so, come on Intel; release the 4x4:4 cards already for those of us that can use them (yeah; just skip over 3x3:3...).Shawn, sasuke256, HiveMind and 1 other person like this. -
I just started looking for the rumored 3x3 9260 myself

Three stream cards seem to be gone. See this thread for some news on 9260: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/intels-new-wi-fi-cards-detailed-on-the-website.802818/

Has Intel given up on 3x3 wireless cards?
