    Has anyone had any success removing the optical drive on a ASUS U47VC-DS51?

    Hey there. I'm new to this forum. I made an account because I was curious if anyone has had any success with removing the optical drive on the U47VC-DS51 model of ASUS notebooks. I want to remove it and put a SSD in the primary drive bay and put my 750GB HDD in the optical bay using a caddy, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about removing the optical drive. Has anyone done this to this model or to its cousin, the U47A-RS51?

    I haven't personally removed it, but typically all you need to do is remove a screw on the bottom of the case and slide the drive out. Then you'll need a caddy to fit the HDD in the optical bay, and voila! Installation is usually really simple.

    Anyone ever figure out how to remove the optical drive for the Asus u47vc?
