i have a brand new HP 8540w with the FHD display and frankly i don't know what i was thinking, everything is way to small and zooming in on webpages, increasing text size in windows, etc.. just doesn't do it for me. frankly i don't see the point in a resolution this high but it costs a lot more than the HD+ screen and a lot of people seem to love/want 1080p on a 15.6" inch laptop. so if you have an 1600x900 display, live somewhere near montreal, and know how to swap out displays let me know and you can get a free upgrade :)

Brand new you say? You could still return it and get the display you want... without voiding the warranty...

Or increase the windows DPI settings so everything is larger (yet still more detailed)

but it doesn't make everything bigger, only windows menus, etc.. and they don't look quite right, text size/font is not what it should be. browser, documents, etc.. everything is tiny.

its brand new but cannot be returned.
