    hey guys is it possible to have 3gb of ram on my laptop? i have 2 1gb sticks and i dont want to buy two more 2gb sticks. can i just replace 1 with a 2gb stick and it will work fine?or do they both have to be the same capacity? have an acer 4720z btw.

    You can upgrade to 3Gb of memory. The memory does not need to have the same capacity or the same manufacturer for your system to work.
    All you need is the same type of memory.
    If you have ddr2 pc5300 memory, its best to buy a single 2Gb card which is PC5300.
