Looks nice, but I am wondering if it can be used on t61p's GPU?

chancekang,
I've moved this to the Hardware Components and Aftermarket Upgrades section. You should receive more responses there. -
There's a GPU version on the same page:

This is the first I've heard of it - seems that AS5 is the dominant thermal interface around this forum. -
Never heard of it. The reviews seem to say it works better than AS5, but I don't do German.

First time I've heard of it too, looks interesting but can we get a non-german review?

The reviews say it keeps the CPU up to 5C cooler.
It shall be easy to apply, just clean the CPU and cooler, lay the metal plate on the CPU and apply the cooler, but first you have to do a "burn-in" run, that means you have to heat up (>70-80C) your GPU or CPU until the liquid metal melts, which can be difficult in some systems. You have to do this once. After this is done the metal is adapted and you can run the CPU at a lower temp again and it shall work great.
To remove the liquid metal you can use a plastic ruler and "scrape" it off or use the included cleaning sponge
Pro: Up to 5C cooler, easy to apply, does not destroy alu coolers
Cons: Expensive if you buy only one plate at a time - in a pack of 3 they are less expensive, not reusable -
I hope you all realize that the difference will be negligable. The paste only serves the purpose of eliminating the air gap between the cpu and the heatsink. Any conductive material will do this, and copper/silver are at the top for conductivity. I have never heard of liquid metal, but what one is looking for is the conductivity of the paste. The greater the conductivity the better.

But still you want something there for the best heat transfer right?
Here's an english review of the paste version of this guy which has it performing better than AS5 again. Beats it by 6 degrees celsius under load...

Have anyone tried LIQUID MetalPad on T61p?
