I've been looking at a few laptops for a possible purchase in a few months. I was able to check out the Dell E1505 recently and tried to type on its keyboard to see how it felt. I found out that the plastic lip right below the space bar (the plastic between the space bar and the mouse pad) is a bit high. Every time I would use the space bar, my thumb would also bang against the plastic lip right below it and it annoyed the **** out of me. I've noticed that the HP's and Compaq's have the plastic lip right below the space bar slanted downward so that when I use the spacebar, the plastic lip does not interfere with my thumb. Now obviously this is due to my typing technique probably not being as good as it should be. (I learned back in the days of electric typewriters!). And my little personal idiosyncrasy about the plastic next to the space bar bothered me so much that it may take the Dell off my possible notebook purchase list.

I was wondering if any of you have some type of idiosyncrasy that either made you seriously reconsider the purchase of a notebook or even disqualified a notebook for purchase.
