Okay so I rebooted and I was able to log in again but my windows got tremendously slow. Then I rebooted agian and it was hanging at the windows screen. After another reboot it says tcip (I think it said tcip) driver is not digitally signed and it wouldnt boot up. So I ran a dell diagonosic utility and its giving me an error on my harddrive

Moved to Hardware Components forum.. If you'd like it in the Dell forum, just report your post and we'll do it.

I believe a status 79 error is a SMART error and it's most likely a sign for hard drive failure. I'd recommend contacting Dell and ask them for a replacement HDD. Make sure you back up all your important data ASAP.

I was able to reformat my computer okay.

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
If you're able to get into Windows, download HDTune and run the disk checker. If that doesn't turn up any problems in the test or the SMART readings, you probably don't have a hard drive issue.

Okay thanks Commander +1 for you.
Its running the test now, Before I tried running the built in windows error checking, it was stopping at a certain point of the test. It seemed to be hanging. -
Okay guys it found some damaged blocks, what do I do?

If you're very lucky, this is just a misread of the drive (I don't think you are lucky, but might as well try it)
start, type
CMD
in the search box, wait a second, then right click the CMD that appears at the top and choose RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
type
chkdsk /b
<enter >
The 'B" switch is a new vista command line switch that tells chkdsk to re-evaluate bad sectors. If the sectors are OK, it will mark them as such, but if it leaves them as marked bad, this is not something that can be fixed.
Bad sectors are spots of the drive that are unusuable. Sometimes, you get a couple of bad sectors and that's it, but more often then not when you see a couple, they begin to multiply.
A 2 month old harddrive should not have bad sectors. Call Dell and tell them you want a new drive sent out
Having Severe Hard drive problems please help
