Ok, recently, twice in the last two months, ive had problems booting up.

I press the power button, the lights come on, as well as the fan. But the screen never comes on (including the backlight), I never hear the HDD start up, and the fan goes down to lowest level within seconds.

I can try powering on multiple times, but always the same result. To get it working, I have to unplug it, and take out the battery. Wait a minute or so, and put it back in. Then it will work perfectly.

I cant think of anything it could be. I have no other symptoms. My HDD is normal, no problems with the GPU, so i dont think its either of those. But im not sure.

I belive I have all BIOS updates and all other updates. I cant think of anything done to the laptop before this started.

Should I be worried or not? I only have a few weeks left of warranty. Although, I cant really send it into HP, because its not always reproducible. Its only about once a month, with no pattern. Its random.
Please give me some advice. :)

I put it here, because im guessing its a Hardware problem, not Software, but I dont know. So feel free to move it.

seen this a few time in my computers,

sometimes the motherboards of laptops get a fair amount of static built up in them and that can affect there operation. we can see if that is the issue.

    give this a try:
unplug your laptop from the wall(AC)
take the battery out (so there is absolutely no power going to the computer)
now hold the power button down for ~8seconds
reconnect bat and AC adapter, and give it a try, then if it happens again let us know ;)

this has worked several times for me but not always. A bonus of this method when it works it only takes 30sec, and there is no risk of damaging your computer.

other options include the motherboard/GPU is almost dead...

So does this happens when your laptop is plugged into an outlet or no? (sorry a bit confused)
