I have a Motorola Cable modem that is about 3 years old. Each day in the past week, I have had to unplug the modem and disconnect the Coaxial cable. Is this malfunction based on the terminal life of the modem, a power surge, problem with the internet service or something else?

I get the same problem, though with a router. The DSL and Network Connection LEDs go off, and the Router stops working.

Crappy router. It's a D-link I'll bet. Some models are known for very flaky performance, requiring regular reboots. I think my Linksys has been up for about two years now without a reboot.

My problem is with the modem. The router is always allowing me to connect. The internet is my issue.
