Dear friends
I have Dell 15R special edition.
Windows 10 , core is 3rd gen, 8gb ram,
I have noticed that my lap is overheat like a hotplate.
I checked the cpu fan vent is silent. No sound from the fan.
Does this mean my cooling fan isn't working ?
But some times I have kept my lap working for 2 hours with heating, but it DID NOT restart one time as a result of heating the processor.
Plz help

Your description does suggest that the fan is not working. The CPU should automatically shut down once it reaches around 95C.
Nonetheless, excess heat is bad for the components and you should get the fan checked / replaced as a matter of urgency.

You can test the fan by downloading HWinfo. When you run it, choose "sensors only." In the next window you'll notice a little fan icon on the center-bottom. Click it and slide the fan control slider all the way up and select "Set Manual." If the fan works, you'll hear it.
