Hello! I have an Asus x55Sv laptop and I have a problem with the heatsink. It is full of dust. I need to clean it but I don't know how to remove the fan (cooler) to have acces to the heatsink. A tutorial (maybe with pictures) is perfect. I wait for answers! Thank you!
Sorry for my bad English but I'm from Romania!

When you said "cooler" did you mean "cover" or am I not getting something on this model. I hope someone can give a step by step you ask for. I cannot but I generally study my notebook. Look for all screws and start removing the ones I think are holding the cover/plate.

Then wipe, blow (compressed air) or suck (vacuum). I pick what I think will be most effective. Compressed air is the preferred by most and I agree but on rare occasion I have concern about blowing further into system. That is why I keep wiping and vacuum as options.

An old toothbrush is great for cleaning out the narrow crevices.

Yes, it would be great, but i don't have acces to the heatsink. The fan is connected to the heatsink and I want to remove the fan to have acces inside to the heatsink. A photo with the fan and the heatsink: [IMG].
And a Google Picasa Album with photos of this laptop: Asus X55Sv.

Not sure what needs to be cleaned in the areas you are concerned about.

Put a toothpick in the fan, then blow it out from the other side.
