Could anyone tell me why my laptop won't boot up anymore after installing a new memory? I know I got the right memory for my pc cuz I've upgraded in the past, so there is no way the memory is wrong but rather I have no clue why it doesn't work. After I turn on my pc, no sound(beep) and it stays on the black screen. The only way to make my pc run is to take the memory out and reboot. Here are things that I am aware of so far:
1. It is the genuine memory for my pc
2. It is Not overclocked or exceeded mamimux ram capacity which my pc can handle
3. After installtion, no beep or nothing but the screen remains black
4. If memory is removed from the pc, then everything works fine.
Please tell if the memory is bad or could it be my laptop missing something or broken. thanks guys

I would vote bad RAM.

Does the memory match the same CAS, Voltage and Timings as the other stick? if not that could cause the black screen with no beeps... Try booting the machine with just that stick of RAM and not the other (old stick) -
Make / Model of PC and RAM?
