I bought some $5.00 displayport to HDMI adaptor off Amazon. I plugged it into my laptop and when I wanted to remove it, it didn't budge. I pulled a bit harder and harder until eventually the plastic part broke off. Now there is just a small half-inch connector stuck in the display port and I cant get it out.
    Is there a trick?

Also why is my screen still enlarged/zoomed in?

If it is sticking out slightly, small pliers should do the trick, be careful though. Check your screen resolution and scaling settings, that should solve your second issue.

Please do NOT cross post, it is poor forum etiquette, and against forum rules.
