So I bought a new HDMI cord and was trying to get the audio to play through the TV. I right clicked the speaker icon on the task bar and clicked on the playback devices. I disabled them in an attempt to figure out how to get the audio to play through the TV and now I have no sound at all. I thought disabling them would be temporary, but now when I go to the speaker icon it says no Output device is installed. I went into hardware in the control panel, then audio, and it says that they are installed. Please help me, I am at a loss to what I did, and how I need to fix it.

    You could try system restore.

I did try system restore, the audio played again, but the audio icon would not pop up. I restarted and the icon is back in the taskbar. So its back up and working. Just had to tinker with it. I wonder why it is set up like that.

Who knows, things just happen like that. That's why I always have system restore enabled even though it uses a lot of HDD Space.
