heres some info on my laptop that might help..

4gb ram
geforce 8400m gs graphic card
wireless, abcde and N tech

thats about all i know about my laptop and this batteries got to go.. its good for typing on the desk but it sucks balls on my lap.
if anyone knows if there is a flat replacement and the price it would be much appeciated i can also search the recept tomrrow to see the real model number if that helps.

If you do indeed have the dv6k series notebook then there's the 6 cell being sold from the hp website: http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/s...&v1=Batteries&product_code=EV088AA&catLevel=2

If it's DV6700, then you can get this 6-cell one:

Look under your laptop for a label, you should able to find out the exact model.
EDIT: Prydeless beat me to it. -
Look on the bright side - elevation from the desk helps with cooling.
How high can you OC that bad boy? -

My experiences with low-cost aftermarket batteries are generally the limited charging cycles. They tend to have a shorter lifespan, but I guess that is to be expected considering the much lower price. -
Don't cheap out on the battery. It is not worth it buy from the MFG. I do know the price is high but the batt is not the component to gamble with. Read my share of posts of bad aftermarket batts. Bad batt can damage notebook without blowing up.
Help I have no idea what to do or buy!
