    Hello Guys
just wondering which processor I should buy I know higher is better but I wonder if my laptop will be stable if I decide for an extreme (XM)
that extreme cpu is cheaper on ebay than QM 2820
    they are both ES Versions
    I don't mind that

If i had the cash i would take the 2920XM.
Unlocked multipliers so you can overclock if the cooling can keep up.

mind I ask you which notebook is it? For real gaming notebooks, there are only 2 models that really support the 2920xm (QM chipsets) the PH170m and the m18x

what is the chipset on that model? otherwise you arent going to overclock anything on it, thus the 2920xm is wasted money

What are you going to use your 2920XM for anyways? But hey, if you have the cash to spend, by all means, enjoy yourself.

    Am not overclocker.
anyway I have decided to buy 2820
it supports all features what intel offer except one Intel® Demand Based Switching
because that 2920 is not fully featured on ebay

you know that 2920 cost US $290.00
    NEW Intel i7-2920XM ES 2.4GHz not 2.5GHz not 2820 2720 | eBay
but is not fully featured so I am not buying that.
2820 IS fully featured just added ES on cpu-z that's all
stepping is 7 so that's fine

Don't worry am not gonna buy nothing expensive just up to 300 dollars

Cool , 2820 is fast enough for normal use.

i7 2960 do have vPro , not a big deal anyways. My friend just got 2960 few days ago , it seem 2920 vs 2960 has not much different , just the number 2 and 6.
Even 2920 can tweaked in bios 2.7 ~3.7.
