You'll need 200pin DDR PC2700(DDR333) SODIMM's. PC3200(DDR400) might work as well, but Acer ships with PC2700 and the chance of it working are therefore higher.
You can either get 2X512MB or 1X1GB RAM and remove/sell the 2X256MB that comes standard with the laptop.
Newegg has pretty good choices when it comes to memory...

and thanks for moving this to the right forum Mr Mod -
yeah what he said, and by the way, don't foret to touch metal on the inside of your case to ground yourself before putting the ram in. also, don't do it on carpet (even esd can happen on almost any surface).

touch metal on the inside of the case to ground myself?
dont quite understand
little more info please, thanks you very much -
the inside of the computer is very sensitive to static electricity. discharge of static electricity from the human body to any of the parts of your machine could fry it and render it inoperable or useless. therefore one of the precautions to take is to discharge your body before touching these computer parts.
to discharge yourself you need to touch a grounded metal object in your room --water faucet, heater, metal cabinet that has its metal feet on the floor. moreover, remove woolen sweaters, synthetic clothes as they generate static electricity when rubbed. another source is walking barefoot or with socks on a carpeted floor or working inside a carpeted room. in short, as has already been noted by the other posters, careful with static electricity as any rubbing can charge the body and this can be discharged to the computer parts. so before touching the module be sure you are completely discharged. then install immediately do not dilly dally by walking around the room as the constant friction can charge you again. -
thank u very much, ill touch something like that, then install the memory quickly, while naked, wearing rubber gloves

hows that? -
I suggest you get a 1GB stick. This way if you want to upgrade later, you will still have one slot free. Cost is about the same as 2x512mb. Or you can still use your old ram in one of the slots giving you 1.25 gb ( 1gb + 256mb ).
The better ram brands are: Crucial, Kingston, Corsair and OCZ. Even their value ram is a good choice if you are trying to save. 2nd tier would be: kingmax, pqi and transcend.
Hope this helps. -
I agree with lku get the 1GB stick since you have the Turion it makes no difference whether you have dual channel memory or not since the Turion's memory controller is single channel.

so there wouldnt be any problem using a 1 gb stick with one of my 256 ones?

Don't see why it would cause a problem. I've read about people doing it with no problems. On the off chance that your ram is not compatible, just pull the 256 and you still have 1gb left.
Some people are not comfortable running different brands of ram. Personally, as long as they both work its fine for me. I'm running a 512 Infenion and another 512 stick from Samsung. No problems.
Just to be safe, run memtest overnight after you upgrade. If no errors are detected your ok.
