I bought a Q9000 to try and upgrade my xi 3650, but the laptop won't even load bios, powers on and the fan spins up but nothing else.

Any suggestions or is it that the motherboard can't get enough power to it?

If ur notebook model comes only with dual core processors only, the BIOS won't support quad cores. So ur comp won't boot. It's not a problem with a motherboard but with the BIOS. So the best processor ur computer can upgrade to is T9900 or a P9700.

No, you cannot. Check around for more info, but if no one has a quad in your notebook, I think you won't be able use it.
