Greetings eveyone. My laptop is Nitro 5 AN515-52 with 8gb RAM and i recently added a new 8gb ballistix RAM https://www.amazon.in/Ballistix-Sin...d=1544105828&sr=8-1&keywords=ddr4+sodimm+2666
I didn't face any issue so far and the memory is in dual channel. But CPU-Z is reporting DRAM frequency as ~1200MHz and cl 18. Can someone please tell me whether the maximum speed is indeed 2400 and not 2666 as i initially thought it would run at? Thanks in advance.

You have mixed different speed modules, when you install different speed RAM, the faster one downclocks to match the slower RAM.

Using the new RAM by itself, your laptop might read the XMP profile or not, really depends on the BIOS but in most cases no it won't support XMP. If your BIOS has the memory configurations unlocked then it might be possible to manually set the speed and timings. -

XMP is something that needs to be set manually, it won't automatically use the profile. If you don't have the option in BIOS, try XTU.

1200Mhz is the clock, because RAM uses Double Data Rate 1200Mhz = 2400MTs, aka 2400Mhz, its running like it should..

EDIT: I don't see any XMP related setting in XTULast edited: Dec 7, 2018
