I have this small 18 in tv that I use for watching tv, playing video games, and using it with my laptop in my sig. This tv supports 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p but when I connect my laptop to this tv the highest resolution it goes up to is 1366 x 768 (on the slider when I right click>screen resolution).

How can I increase the resolution to something higher?

edit: I am connecting through VGA

What exactly is the specified physical resolution of your external monitor? That should be stated in the manual.
is more or less marketing speech.

Edit: 1366x768 is very popular for 18" and 19" 16:9 LCD TVs.

I just checked and yes, you are correct! I thought the 1080p meant I connect my laptop and display 1920x1080 resolution through it.

    Thank you and +rep!
